Just a few words to wish you a Happy World Environment Day.
Did you know it was World Environment Day? I am often surprised at how little coverage it gets on our local media. Yet it is an important day for everyone to consider. If we are to make any headway with climate change we need to have awareness and education. Otherwise it won't be seen as such a bad problem...it will be someone elses problem. Today should be a day to ponder and examine how do we get involved with environemental matters? What needs to be done? How can we raise awareness? Questions for everyone to answer if we are to make changes to improve the impact we have on the environment.
World Environment Day is an annual event where the United Nations encourages worldwide awareness of the environment and puts a focus on it politically, making a call to action. The World Environment Day celebration began in 1972 and addresses environmental issues and encourages people to become more thoughtful about the environment and to know that they have the ability to drive the change to become greener.
