A little help with being eco-friendly

I am always looking for ways to make it easier to become eco-friendly. I know we all need help at some stage to encourage and motivate us. For people that are new to an eco-friendly lifestyle, they often don’t know where to begin. There are many things to learn and having help in this area can really go a long way.

So where to start?

1. Read

There are so many great eco-friendly books out there, but here are a few you might like to pick up:

Down to Earth - Rhonda Hetzel

Balanced and Barefoot by Angela Hanscom

Green Guide Families: The Complete Reference for Eco-Friendly Parents by Catherine Zandonella

The Lorax by Dr. Seuss (Kids book, but also the movie version)

Easy Green Living by Renée Loux

2. Meet like minded people

Join a community of people who are striving to be eco-friendly. It is amazing what you can learn from others, from little tips for around the home to hearing of the latest innovations around the world. If you can't find a group, form one. There may be others like you wanting to do the same.

3. The internet

Of course there is so much information to find on the internet from organisations, to press releases, to blogs. Find what appeals to you, as we all learn better from what we like. My suggestions are:

4. Apps

I was reading the green villages blog, which I like and I came across their suggestions on apps to try. It had such good suggestions, I thought I should share it with you. You might find some of these apps really helpful in encouraging you daily to make the steps towards an eco-friendly lifestyle.

We hope these suggestions help you on your journey to been eco-friendly. Rememeber there is a lot to learn, so don't expect you will be able to do everything at once. Baby steps is just fine because it is the small habits that will motivate you to keep going. Good luck!
