Hello everyone, we hope you have been enjoying the holidays and if you are working, that you had a chance to get involved in the festivities. No matter what you have been doing it is time to look at the year ahead and think about the the resolutions you'want to make. You may not want to make resolutions, but you may want to make a few changes in your life. Now you know I have a few suggestions, which mean looking after the earth, but some of my suggestion will also look after you and your health. Here are our suggestions:
1. Change your eating habits
Eat organic as much as possible. Eat better quality meat and less of it. Become vegan at least once a week.
2. Plan your meals
Cook from scratch, batch cook and eat healthier. Your body will love it, you will create less waste and you will save a bit of cash.
3. Make a habit of using reusable drinkware and dinnerware
It is so easy these days to get stainless steel or glass drink bottles. Even for parties you can use disposables plates, cups and utensils that are biodegaradable. Where possible avoid plastic.
4. Remove toxic cleaning products from your home
From washing dishes, to in the laundry and in the bathroom you can make huge changes. If you are game, make your own washing solutions. Baking soda, vinegar and lemon will become your friend.
5. Change your Make Up routine
Remove personal care products and make-up that contain toxic chemicals.
6. Use less energy
Switch off power to appliances, when not in use. Dry clothes outdoors rather than using the drier.
7. Avoid the car
Where possible, walk, carpool or take public transport.
8. Bring bags with you when shopping
Avoid collecting plastic shopping bags, but if you do collect some, make sure you recycle them. Most supermarkets have a recycling service.
This is a short list, but we hope you decide to include them in your resolutions or into the changes you want to make. You will be surprised how these simple ideas can be introduced into your every day life and soon you will be living a greener lifestyle.
Happy New Year.
Looking forward to suggesting more earthly passionate ideas to you in the year to come.
